Lalah Hathaway – If U Ever

Ok, being the daughter of a legend has its hardships, because hell, people always expect you to live up to the expectations of that person who set precedence in beautiful soul music...Like someone of Donny Hathaway's stature. But in Lalah Hathaway's case, that is a challenge that she welcomes wholeheartedly. She has established herself as a well respected soul/jazz/fusion singer with a long pedigree of artist collaborations to add. Working with people like Joe Sample, the late Art Porter, Jr., and Take 6, just to name a few, Lalah's deep, sultry voice makes the heart of men melt...including this one LOL. From her 2004 cd entitled, "Outrun The Sky", this is "If U Ever". I know her Dad would be proud :) |
