Baseball Fitness Program – What Should I Do To Start A Youth Aquatics Fitness Program?Im starting a youth aquatics fitness program. We already have swim lessons. But our facility doesnt offer a lot of programs for youth. I am looking for a swimming program that gets kids in off of the streets and in a fun and healthy environment. Ive thought about starting a water sports team that meets once or twice a week to play basketball volleyball frisbee baseball paintball (with water guns) all modified for the water. But I would also like to have something thats individual continuous with prizes. For adults we have the mile swim club for every 100 miles they get a t-shirt. Something like that for the kids. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!!! – Baseball Fitness Program

Training Program – Strength For Baseball?Just wondering if someone could provide me with a site, or write up a quick training Program for baseball. I want to increase my strength and speed, but i also want to gain some fitness. Ive created one of my own but its always good to have a second opinion and hopefully get some extra exercises to do. I dont have medicine balls. Just dumbbells, a bench press, and a pretty average machine.
Thanks!

Can You Help? Im Nervous And I Dont Really Know What To Do?Im going into 8th grade.
Im pretty athletic for the most part. I got a Presidential in the National Fitness program. But this year well have to play Baseball a lot, (we did last year too). Honestly, I cant hit the ball to save my life. Its very, very embarresing. I guess sometimes I hit it, but it doesnt go far. Im good at everything else like running and kicking, but not hitting in baseball.
My class isnt very supportive either. They wont talk to you and they certainly wont encourage you if you strike out. This is like hell for me. I get so embarressed and stressed and tense all at once when Im up to bat. Ive taken lessons before and I practice, but no results….
Im really scared about this year. Any advice? My stomach fliips whenever I think about it. Its awful….
Oh, hehe! Sorry, its the wrong category. Im used to putting stuff in the Polls Surveys category…oooops!!
Have an awesome night everybody =)

PLEASE TELL ME WHY DO YOU THINK HOMESCHOOLERS ARE NOT SOCIALIZED??
DO PUBLIC SCHOOLERS DO ALL THIS?
HOW IS BEING INSIDE 4 WALLS ALL DAY WITH BULLYING, PICKING, DRUGS, POPULARITY CONTESTS, DISRESPECT, VIOLENCE, KILLING, ETC CALLED SOCIALIZING??
I am sorry I should have clarified this- we do NOT do all these things listed here, these are all of the things that are OFFERED thru our homeschool group.
There are SO many great answers here! Hate to say it, wait, no I dont – but for every comment by the naysayers, the homeschoolers refuted every one.
I KNOW that every one has to make their own decision to do homeschool or not and Im not knocking ANYONE who does NOT choose homeschool. Its just that the naysayers should NOT be knocking homeschool because they have never done it, they dont know what its like!
Now I DO knock public school because my children HAVE been there and there are SO many bad things there. One teacher even told me I am so sorry, the administrators just would not let me help your child.
That being said, I have to say that the answer by violin_duchess is the one I will pick.
I wish that I could pick all the great answers, I would if I could.
THanks everyone!!

Plus, its private, and youll always have somebody to go with.

Please Help Me With My Weight.?My name is and I am 26 years old and am already dying. I am 304lbs and have health problems that most 50 or 60 year olds have. I can barely stand for more then 5 minutes with out pain. I have asthma and chronic bronchitis. I sleep very little and usually wake up more tired then when I went to bed. I have tried diets with no success, and have not been able to stick to an exercise program. I know I need help but am afraid that there is no one that will help me. I don’t make very much and can’t even afford a membership to a Fitness center. I want to get healthy and loose weight. I don’t know where else to turn. I fear that with every breath I take it could be my last and there is so much I have not seen or done. My weight has kept me from doing the thing I have always wanted to or even used to do. I used to like to play Baseball and can’t any more. I have trouble in relationships because a guy looks at me and says no way. Please I dont want to die, can any one help me?

If Bush Spent Us In To Poverty, Then Can You Please Explain How?spending almost another trillion on items such as this is any different?
The few, and the key word few jobs that these will create will only last for a very very short term. Then its back to unemployment. The only difference is that we are a trillion more in debt to the Chinese.
If you hated bushes spending, they why in the world would you want anyone to spend this much more? Just look what they are spending it on. And yes, this is as of today.
President-elect Obamas transition team is promising that its $700 billion, or $850 billion, or $1 trillion, or whatever it now is stimulus wont include pork-barrel spending. They must not have talked to the nations mayors, who recently responded to Mr. Obamas request to compile their priority list of shovel-ready projects.
By all accounts, the $73 billion wish list may be the largest collection of parochial spending projects in American history. Strolling through the 800 pages, we found such beauties as: $1 million to upgrade the Los Angeles County Convention Center elevated catwalk for cameras and lighting; $350,000 for an Albuquerque, N.M., Fitness center; $94 million for a parking garage at the Orange Bowl in Miami; $4.5 million for Gretna, Florida, to bottle water with recyclable bottles; a $35 million music hall of fame in Florissant, Missouri, and $3.1 million for a swimming pool in Tulsa.
Oh, and desperate Santa Barbara, Calif., respectfully requests $80,000 for a tennis facility; Savannah, Georgia, would like to build a childrens museum; Ventura, Calif., wants $6 million to renovate the beach at Surfers Point, and Durham, N.C., home of the Durham Bulls, wants to construct the first Minor League Baseball Hall of Fame. Dayton, Ohio, wants $1.5 million to reduce prostitution with education programs, and Ponce, Puerto Rico wants $5.7 million to improve its cruise ship terminal (which will create all of 60 jobs). We could go on.
No doubt some of these proposals would enhance urban life, but then why cant the cities build them with their own money? Perhaps because the projects dont really measure up against more urgent local priorities. But when the federal taxpayer does the financing, everything suddenly becomes affordable. If Durham wants a tourist destination, how about hitting up Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, who did so well by the film Bull Durham?
The other truth about most of these projects is that they dont come close to representing an economic stimulus. They may put a few people to work for a while, albeit while taking money out of the private economy to pay for them. But the test for a useful public project should be whether it contributes to a net increase in productivity after accounting for that lost private investment.
