The Boston Red Sox have agreed to a deal to acquire All-Star slugger Victor Martinez from the Cleveland Indians. Sports Illustrated is reporting that the Sox traded newcomer Adam LaRoche, who played his first game for Boston last week, to the Atlanta Braves for utility player Casey Kotchman. The trades came shortly before the 4 p.m. deadline to complete deals without waivers.
