5.2 Earthquake in Illinois 4/18/08

The USGS says a 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook Southern Illinois at 4:37 am The epicenter is 19 miles southeast of Olney, IL. The quake was felt across much of the Midwest. Here in Central Illinois, no damage or injuries were reported. Damage was reported in other location outside of our area. The USGS say aftershock may occur, but at a lower magnitude on the Richter Scale. Source: WCIA 3 |
